SEO in Enlitly

Enlitly sites are full SEO capabilities. Below are few checklist items, you can do to rank on Google.

Note that ranking on google is not just dependent on on-page SEO but also on off-page SEO (backlinks, domain authority etc.). It also depends on how you create connected pages (Pillar and Cluster articles). This article will only cover On-page SEO checklist relevant to Enlitly.

Title #

Include target keywords in your title. This can be edited by going to your site page in edit mode, and clicking on “Page Level Settings” options available on the top left side. Clicking on “Page Level Settings” will open up a side pop up. Here you will see an option to include Title.

  1. – Keep title tags max 60 characters.
  2. Make title tags unique for each page.

Meta Descriptions #

Write compelling, keyword-rich meta descriptions. Again this option is available in the Page level settings

  1. Keep meta description max 150 characters.

URL Structure #

Enlitly automatically generates a default URL when you add a new page. This URL is based on the page name, adding hyphens instead of space. You can edit the page URL in the “Page Level Settings” as needed.

  1. Ensure URLs are short, descriptive, and include relevant keywords.
  2. Use hyphens (-) to separate words in URLs, avoiding underscores

Headings (H1, H2, H3) #

Enlitly has ability to make any text as heading. This can be done in the text editor.

  1. Use only one H1 tag per page, incorporating the main keyword.
  2. Structure content with H2, H3 tags to enhance readability and SEO.

Internal & External Linking #

Enlitly has ability to define anchor text (Text to display) when adding a link on the site. This option is available in the text editor.

  1. Use descriptive anchor text for internal links.
  2. Create a clear internal linking structure to improve navigation and SEO.
  3. Your article should be a combination of internal links (same domain) and external links (different domain)

Image Optimization #

  1. Use alt text with relevant keywords for all images. You can edit this in the image settings in Enlitly
  2. Compress images using free online tools like Image Compressor. Heavy images will result in more loading time, increasing the overall page load time.
  3. Use descriptive file names for images (e.g., “seo-checklist.jpg” instead of “IMG1234.jpg”).

More Tips #

Do keyword research and choose keywords which are easy to rank (low competition and reasonable volume. You can use Google Keyword planner to look for such keywords.

Choose one primary and 2-5 secondary keywords naturally throughout the content. Best combination is one primary and two-five long tail keywords.

Aim for high-quality, original content of at least 500-1,000 words per page. This will help in reader engagement measure.

Use LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) keywords to improve topic relevance.

Avoid keyword stuffing; maintain a keyword density of around 1-2%.

Use pillar cluster strategy to create related but linked articles.

Improve backlinking by linking your article from other high authority domains, using relevant anchor text.

Drive traffic by sharing your post on social media.
