How to create a lead magnet in Enlitly

A Lead Magnet in Enlitly requires 4 assets. Note that you don’t need to create these assets separately as the process has been automated. However, it’s good to know how these 4 assets are connected to each other.

Asset 1: A list – This is the placeholder for those who opt in.

Asset 2: An opt-in form connected to the list

Asset 3: Funnel Pages – Usually an opt-in page and a thank you page

Asset 4: An email sequence connected to the list

Here are steps to create a simple pdf guide lead magnet.

Step 1: Add a new funnel in the Marketing funnel area:

For a simple 2-page funnel (Opt-in and confirmation), select the option “Lead Magnet”. This will create all 4 assests listed above.

A list with the same name as the funnel name. You will find this in the List module

A form with the same name as the funnel name. You will find this in the Form Module

Optin and confirmation page, which you can see the funnel area.

An email sequence with the same name as the funnel name. You will find this in the sequence module.

Note that in future releases, you will find all these assets right under the funnel.

Step 2: Apply the template

Select and appply a template for Opt-in page from category “Opt-in”

Select and appply a template for confirmation page from category “Confirmation”

Step 3: Connect the form and thank you page

The form that is used in the template is a default form. Replace this form with the form that was created in step 1.

You can customize your form to add or remove more fields. For more details on how to add fields to a form, refer to help articles under the Form category.

Copy the URL of the Thank you / Confirmation page and paste it into the Form settings >> Redirect URL property. This will redirect users from the main page to the confirmation page once they successfully opt-in.

Step 4: Personalize the template

Change the copy, colors, and images to personalize them to your brand.

Step 5: Personalize email and include the link to your free guide.

Edit the email in the sequence. By default, system creates a confirmation email, which is triggered as soon as someone opt-ins. You can personalize this email and include a link to your freebie.

If you choose to upload your freebie (usually a video or a PDF) in Enlitly, you can copy the link from the Media library. Note that the file links included in the email should be public. First mark the file as public and then copy the URL of the file.

Step 6: Test your lead magnet.

Whenever someone opt-ins, you will find the contact email and requested details in your “Manage Contacts” section under the list module as well as under the list that you created in Step1. You will also receive a notification on your account email.

Note that one contact will receive emails in the sequence once only. While testing multiple times, with the same email address, delete the contact from “Manage Contacts” and then opt-in again.
