Email sequences in Enlitly are designed to help you automate a series of emails. In this article, we will cover the basics of understanding sequences, as well as the differences between system-generated and custom sequences.
Email sequences are used whenever you want to send automated emails to your contacts.
Each email sequence is always linked to a List. Once a contact is added to that list, the sequence is triggered. Typically, the first email in the sequence is set to be sent immediately (0 hours) after a contact joins the list.
You can schedule subsequent emails to be sent after a designated wait time, such as 1 hour or 1 day. The system will automatically send the next email after the specified delay.
There are no restrictions on the number of emails you can add to a sequence, allowing you to create as extensive a sequence as needed.
Custom sequences are those that you create manually. For example, if you are building a funnel from scratch by adding an opt-in form to a landing page, you would use a custom sequence.
Here’s how a custom sequence works when creating a funnel from scratch:
Whenever someone submits the form on your landing page, they are added to the associated list, and the sequence emails are triggered based on your drip settings.
Custom sequences are also useful when you want to segment your list and send automated emails to a specific segment. To learn more about segmentation in Enlitly, please refer to the article: How to segment your contacts in Enlitly .
You can create custom sequences within the “Email” module under the “Sequence” section, as shown in the screenshot below.
We have streamlined the process of creating landing pages, forms, lists, and sequences within the “Funnels” module. When you add a funnel, Enlitly automatically generates the form, list, and sequence for you, so there is no need to manually create them. For more details, see the section on system-generated sequences below.
Enlitly automatically generates sequences when you add a funnel or a product.
Funnel Sequences: When you add a funnel, you will find a system-generated sequence in the “Sequence” tab while editing the funnel, as shown in the screenshot below.
Product Sequences: Similarly, when you add a product, the system generates an onboarding sequence. This sequence can be viewed and managed within the product settings, as shown in the screenshot below.
These system-generated sequences can be customized to align with your brand and communication style, ensuring a personalized experience for your audience.
