Automation Module in Enlitly

This module is used to build action based automations to redirect emails to your choice of Integration. Its easy to confuse this module with email automation but email automation is equal to “Sequence” module in Enlitly.

This module is for deciding where your contacts should go when a user takes an action on your site built in Enlitly

By default when you create a product, we define automation to send contact details of those who purchased your product to your Enlitly List “Purchased [Product Name]”.

Now, if you want to use a different ESP, you will first define an integration with your ESP. This is done is Integration module. Next, you will define Automation, in which you will mention 4 parameters:

1. Action – Select an action. As of now, we have one action which is “Purchased”.
2. Product – Select the product name.
3. Integration – Select the integration name.
4. List – Select the list name. This is populated based on the integration that you select in step 3. The list will come from your ESP.

These 4 parameters implies – Contact details of those who purchased the product X, will get added to Integration Y to the list Y.a

Lets say that you have a List name “Customer” in your Convertkit account. You will first connect Convertkit in Integration module, using your API keys. Lets call this integration CK.

Your product name is “Launch Accelerator”. You will select below options in your automation

Action – “Purchased”

Product – “Launch Accelerator”

Integration – CK

List – ” Customer “

This automation will send whoever purchased your product “Launch Accelerator ” to your convert kit account in the list “Customer”

If you are wondering, why one additional step of defining automation, here is the reason- Consider that you have 2 separate accounts in Converkit (Yes, its rare but a few of our users who are also consultants do have multiple account which they want to use with the same business in Enlitly).

With other platforms you cannot connect more than 1 account for a given ESP. With this approach you are able to connect 2 accounts from the same ESP.

Note that the system is configured to create purchase sequence and automation for every product that you add in Enlilty. This is done to save your time. In case of external ESP, you will have to manually delete the Enlitly Sequence and Automation.

You can also choose to keep both Enlitly and externl ESPs (2 automations -one with Enlitly as your ESP and one with External ESP). System will add purchase contacts to both Enlitly and external ESP.
